Establishing An Art Technology Hub
The Centre for Applied Computing and Interactive Media (ACIM) at City University of Hong Kong operates as an interdisciplinary research platform combining computation and new media art. The center required a straightforward web presence to introduce its core mission and establish its position within the regional art technology sector.
Our development work focused on building a clean, functional informational website. The platform serves as a direct point of contact for international academic partners, providing clear context on how the center utilizes creative technology for research and social applications.

Structuring A Streamlined Directory
With a concise project scope, the platform focuses strictly on three essential pillars: current projects, historical archives, and team profiles. We designed a straightforward, compact menu structure that avoids navigational complexity.
This streamlined directory allows visitors to instantly browse active research, review past exhibitions, or find contact details for specific personnel without encountering deep page hierarchies or unnecessary structural layers.

Ensuring Clean Cross-Device Readability
Academic researchers and students frequently access the website across a range of devices, from desktop computers to mobile screens. Because the site contains text-heavy descriptions of research papers and event logs, the frontend layout must prioritize basic legibility above all else.
We structured the responsive framework to ensure that multi-column text blocks, project images, and event dates scale down safely on smaller viewports. This straightforward approach guarantees that the platform remains fully readable and navigable for users on the move.
Connecting The Creative Community
A core component of the compact site is dedicated entirely to the center's personnel and academic collaborators. We built a straightforward directory that lists the faculty, technical experts, and international partners driving ACIM's initiatives.
This section provides clean, unembellished profile listings, allowing external institutions and prospective scholars to identify key contacts and see the human expertise behind the center's art technology research.
